Conversations with The Pip

Me: I love you very much.

The Pip: I know.

Me: How do you know?

The Pip: My memory remembers.

While cuddling in bed tonight...

Said with longing and innocence, "I wish I could have a big leg like you. I don't have any. I just have small legs."
~The Pip

She just kills me. I guess this confirms my weight loss plan. :)

My Mower and Me

I have a small confession to make...I love to mow the lawn.

To the neighbors, it may look like I am a slave to my husband...a wife mowing while her husband watches over her. But that could not be farther from the truth. I could mow for hours.

I am happy. The husband is happy. The kids are happy. Mommy is recharging.

Our faithful mower just made it back from a 2 week spa vacation at Wieland's Lawn Mower Hospital. A couple new tires, a tweak and tuneup here and there, a few new parts and my relationship was restored with my mower.

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways."

*I see improvement right away instead of waiting months for behavior to change.

*Everything is restored to perfect order and it will not be destroyed minutes later.

*I can't hear children crying or whining above the hum of the engine. Bless their hearts.

*I am finally alone with my thoughts. The rays of the sun melt away my stress.

*I have uninterrupted exercise. I never thought it was possible until now.

Thank you, dear mower. I am looking forward to the months ahead.

Ears, Ears, Ears

After battling ear infections for many months and the last one not healed after 2 antibiotics, we visited with an ENT. Little Mister is set to have surgery for tubes on Monday, 4/19. Pray that all goes well. We are ready to have healthy ears.

At the same time, this little guy is cutting about 8 teeth. Ouch!!!! Unfortunately, we can't give him Motrin due to the upcoming surgery and Tylenol just isn't "cutting" it. Thankfully, he has no fever yet and is pretty much his usual sweet self with some fussiness thrown in. Teething is a tough job!

The Party Continues...April 3, 2010

We started Day 2 of celebrating by giving her a movie she loves.

Playing with her new lego table

Both kids got a shared "big" birthday gift...a sandbox.

Then we dyed Easter eggs.

We finished the day by going to see How to Train Your Dragon and then ate out for a birthday dinner. Thanks Aunt Teresa for joining us! Another fun day!

From the Mouth of The Pip

Did you know?

"Girls do not snore when they go to sleep...only boys."

Question of the day yesterday:

Said with a very serious face, "Mommy, do you know how to dance on tables?"

I killed a wasp in The Pip's room this morning. She offered up the following information, "It was in my room when I went to bed last night. It was friendly."
